Mountain Lion Hunts with Hounds

Year-round in Nevada, best when the snow is flying. No draw, no waiting. Just the hounds, the track, and the tree.

The Hunt

Behind the Hounds

Lion hunting is year-round in Nevada, but when the snow starts flying, that’s when we’d rather be in the mountains.

This isn’t an easy hunt. It’s early mornings, long days, steep country, cold hands, and miles behind a pack of hounds. Some tracks come together quick. Others will drag you across the mountain and make you earn every step.

When we turn the hounds loose, there are no guarantees where the day will take us. That’s part of it. Follow the dogs, trust the pack, and keep moving until the work is done.

Get to the tree. Reward the hounds. Take the pictures. Those are the days you’ll tell stories about.

Where

Tags are good statewide. We hunt the lion country of eastern Nevada out of Pioche, Lincoln County.

The Photo Hunt

Want the chase and the treed cat without the tag?

Book a photo hunt. You get the hound work, the race to the tree, and the cat in the branches, and you leave the tag in your pocket. Same early mornings, same steep country, same pack of hounds.

The Pack

A lion hunt is only as good as the dogs on the track. We breed and sell hounds built for the hunt, with the grit, drive, tracking ability, and heart to perform in the field. More about our hounds, or ask about hounds for sale.
